About
I've been on both sides of this conversation.
Eight years working inside senior living. And one very hard year as a daughter trying to do right by a parent. That combination is where Daughter to Daughter comes from.
The insider view
I spent eight years working inside senior living — long enough to understand how the industry works, how tours are run, what the contracts actually say, and what questions families almost never think to ask until it's too late. I've seen the sales process from the inside. I know what a good community looks like, and I know what a struggling one tries to hide.
Then I sat on the other side of it. My own family faced the same decisions that bring most people to me: a parent whose needs were changing, a timeline that felt impossible, options that all sounded the same, and the quiet, persistent fear of getting it wrong. I had every advantage — the industry knowledge, the vocabulary, the contacts — and it was still one of the hardest things I've ever done.
That experience is what made me realize how much harder it must be for families who don't have that background. Who are sorting through brochures and touring communities and trying to read between the lines without any of the context that makes those lines readable.
"I know what a good answer sounds like. And I know what it sounds like when someone is telling you what you want to hear."
What I actually do
I'm not a placement agency. I don't get paid by communities to refer families to them — that model creates a conflict of interest that I'm not willing to have. I work only for the families I advise.
What I offer is the honest version of what you'd get if you had a friend who happened to have spent a decade inside this industry. I'll tell you what to ask on tours, what the answers should sound like, what red flags look like in person versus on paper, and how to read a contract before you sign it. I'll help you understand the difference between levels of care, what memory care actually means day to day, and how to have the hard conversation with a parent who isn't ready to have it.
I'll also just sit with you in the hard part. Because sometimes what you need isn't more information — it's someone who understands the weight of it and won't rush you.
No referral fees. Ever.
I don't accept payment from communities, placement networks, or any third party. My only financial relationship is with the families I work with.
No agenda.
I'm not steering you toward a particular community or a particular decision. I'm helping you make the one that's right for your family.
No rushing.
These decisions have a timeline, but they shouldn't feel like a sales process. I work at your pace.
One daughter to another.
I started this because I believe no one should have to navigate this alone — and because the families who need honest guidance the most are often the ones least likely to find it. If you're in the middle of this right now, I'm glad you're here.
